Tips for Taking the BEST Weekly Pregnancy Transformation Photos

Here are my tips for taking the best pregnancy transformation photos:

Tip #1: Take the photo on a day that you have something to do.

If you’re like me, you don’t wear make-up everyday ( or even get out of your pj’s) – taking the photo on a day that you have to go to work, on a date, shopping, etc. means that you will already be done up and looking fab. Personally, I love looking glam in all of my photos – so this set isn’t any different. I took the photos usually in the morning right after I did my hair and make-up. It made me feel pretty and happy to have my picture taken.

Tip #2: Have a sign displaying what week you are on.

This is the easiest thing to do. I know that you might be tempted to just use a photo editing app – but trust me, baby brain will make you forget. Then your going to have a bunch of random pictures and wonder what week it was. It’s easiest to just hold up a sign or place a sticker on your belly.

Tip #3: Wear the same outfit.

Find a dress or shirt that is both form fitting and stretchy – body con and lycra dresses work amazing for this. If you are going to use a dress, I recommend finding one that is a little bit long if it isn’t a maternity dress. Mine could barely cover my bum by the last picture because of the belly. Try and pick a neutral color if you are starting you photos early ( before you know the gender ).

Tip #4: Take multiples.

Take a couple pictures in different poses. Use different props if you have them. Have your partner or spouse come in for one of the pictures. In the moment, you might hate every single picture you take- just so you know, every picture is cute, because everyone loves a pregnant belly. Now that I’m bump-less, I love every picture that I took – and I wish that I had taken more! It’s fun to document this time in your life – especially for your baby. I love all of the silly pictures my mom put in my baby book of her with the big belly.

Tip #5: Use the same background.

I tried at first a couple of different settings around my house – it took a while to find a background that I liked. I recommend finding a space before you start your photo set. Some of my pictures have different backgrounds and when they are put in order, it just doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing.

I FINALLY managed to take my last picture for my pregnancy transformation photos.

I wanted to take the last photo the day we came home from the hospital…but things have been a little nuts. It’s been harder trying to adjust living with a new person – he just wants all of my attention! I love it though, and I love him more than I could ever imagine.

I’m finally starting to be happy with my post baby body. I’ve still got about 15ish pounds to lose – which I’m hoping to lose by the summer time. The last 15 pounds is always the hardest. I’ve been struggling at this number since the holidays. Boo you to all of those delicious Christmas treats – sugar is my weakness!

It is really fun to look back now at my belly and watch it grow. At the time it was also fun to create a new image on my board every week. The last couple of weeks it did get annoying and I didn’t bother to take a picture. Which I really regret now.
